What Is a Demand Account?
Demand Account is another term for Checking Account. Designed to meet your everyday banking needs, this versatile account allows you to deposit, withdraw, and transfer funds. Many people choose to deposit their paycheck into a Demand Account and use the account to pay for bills. For easy access to your funds, most Demand Accounts come with a debit card, so you don’t have to worry about how much cash you have on hand.
At Vault.Bank, our Demand Accounts come complete with enhanced fraud-protection features, fee waivers, Overdraft Protection, and so much more. Plus, by choosing an FDIC-insured account like ours, you’ll enjoy the added peace of mind that comes with knowing your money is always protected.
Not all digital bank accounts are created equal. Let’s learn more about all the benefits that come with a Vault.Bank Demand Account.
Debit Card
Every Vault.Bank Demand Account comes with a free Vault Debit Card, allowing for easy access to the funds in your account. Our card comes with the added advantage of customizable spending limits and protections, so you have control over how much spending power your card has, as well as where your card can be used and the types of purchases that are allowed.
Paying with your debit card is secure and easy. Vault Debit Cards come with contactless payment options, allowing you to tap to pay at checkout. Simply look for the contactless payment symbol, which looks like a sideways Wi-Fi symbol, at the payment terminal, and hold your card over the symbol. Or, if you have a digital wallet, you can hold your phone or smart device over the symbol instead.
Fee Waiver
Say goodbye to pesky fees! By setting up direct deposit or maintaining a daily balance of $2,500 you can avoid fees on your Demand Account. It’s that simple!
Overdraft Protection
If your account balance does run low, we’ve got you covered. With Overdraft Protection, you’ll enjoy peace of mind knowing you’ll avoid unexpected fees due to your low balance thanks to our reliable overdraft safeguards.
Secure Online Banking
As an online bank, another great perk of choosing a Vault.Bank Demand Account is our secure online banking. When using digital banking, you can rest assured knowing we use strong, industry-standard protocols to keep your data safe and confidential.
Securing your data is our number one priority. That’s’ why we use advanced security measures like multi-factor authentication, account alerts, enhanced anti-fraud features, and real-time account monitoring.
You’ve probably notice our website ends in “.bank” rather than “.com” – this helps provide a more secure online banking experience. See for yourself how our “.bank” domain enhances the security of your information here.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Checking Account?
A Checking Account is a type of bank account whose main function is to allow accountholders to easily deposit, withdraw, and transfer funds. It is predominantly used to store paychecks, pay bills, and for shopping purposes.
How do I open a Checking Account online?
Opening a Vault Checking Account, also called a Demand Account, is easy. Simply click the “Log In” or “Sign Up” button at the top right-hand corner of our website to get started.
Where is the account number on a check?
When looking at a check, at the very bottom you’ll see three sets of grouped numbers. The account number is the second set of grouped numbers. Want an easy tip to remember? The account number is usually 10 numbers long.
Understanding the other numbers is also important. If you’re looking at the bottom of the check, from left to right, the first set of numbers is the routing number, the second is the account number, and the third is the check number. An easy way to remember the order if you’re “wracking” your brain is with the acronym RAC:
Routing Number
Account Number
Check Number
What are contactless payments?
Rather than swiping, inserting, or handing your card to a cashier, contactless payments are when you hold your card or tap your smart device over the payment terminal. This is also sometimes called tap to pay. To use a smart device for this process, simply add your card to your device’s digital wallet, or download a digital wallet app, such as Apple Pay® or Google Wallet™.
The beauty of contactless payments is they are fast and easy. No PINs or signatures are involved, allowing for a streamlined payment process. Plus, no person or machine touches your card.
Contactless payments use a technology called near-field communication (NFC), which works when there’s just a small distance, a couple inches, between objects, so you don’t need to worry about accidentally paying for someone else’s items at the checkout. You can tell if your card has NFC capability by looking for an icon that looks like a Wi-Fi symbol turned sideways.
